Sirpa Särkijärvi
Sirpa tells about her painting process and explains that she strives for a holistic approach, in which social philosophical reflection and contemporaneity are linked to the presence and physicality of painting. In methodological painting sessions, individual solutions on the canvas seem sometimes very quick and experimental – although her works are based on concentration, focus and years of experience. Horizontally running acrylic paint is conveyed through thoughtful use of colored surfaces, motion and drawing, flowing together energetically and dynamically on the canvas.
Sirpa Särkijärvi (b. 1974) graduated from Turku Drawing School in 1997. After graduating, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions and regularly held solo exhibitions.
