Arto Korhonen
Arto Korhonen masters his technique and subject. In an innovative way, he combines traditional watercolor painting with ordinary, daily urban imagery and makes it available to a wider audience. He says: I want to use watercolor, and build installations that show, that crafts based on old technology, makes the contemporary phenomena visible in an interesting way.
Arto Korhonen (b. 1963), who graduated from the Lahti Art Institute in 1989, lives and works in Helsinki. In addition to showing his works in private and group exhibitions, he has in recent years curated exhibitions in Finland and abroad. His works are included in the collections of: Amos Rex, HAM, Kiasma, The Nordic Watercolour Museum, Sara Hildén Art Museum and Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation.
